What our children in Year 6 say about curriculum enrichment this term...

In RE this term people from different religions visited us: Christianity, Hinduism and Judaism. I liked how informative the sessions were and it was really fun when one of the visitors played and sung songs linked to their religion (Lavender). I liked how the Jewish visitor showed us lots of things linked to their religion and the Hindu visitor played a song for us (Eva)

When the Dogs Trust visited us, Suzie taught us that we shouldn't touch dogs unless we know them and that when a dog is eating, you should never disturb it. I liked all of the fun demonstration with 'Plushy' dog (James)

This term we had a whole school skipping day. During our session, we learnt about lots of different ways to skip including back skip, double cross and hop skip! It was fun and everyone enjoyed it. We can now practise everything we learnt during playtime (Isaac)

As part of our geography and history units of work we visited Castle Eden Dene where we took part in a forest schools session and walked through the dene looking for flora and fauna and the positive and negative impact of humans on these. We also visited Seaham beach to investigate coastal erosion and spent some time looking at the Tommy statue. I liked that we were news reporters on the beach and made a viseo about coastal erosion (Seth)
